Celebrating
93 years, 1914-2007
Our society was created in 1914. The society joined
the Ontario Horticultural
Association at this time. The first president was Dr. J. Butler. The
Newcastle Horticultural Society' is an incorporated volunteer organization
dedicated to the encouragement of all horticultural pursuits and to the protection
of our natural environment. We bring programs of interest to all our members
and visitors. All levels of gardening expertise from novice to expert are
encouraged to contribute their skills.
We receive speakers who endeavor to share their knowledge with us on a variety
of topics.
We have a civic beautification committee whose members work hard to keep
the Newcastle Community Hall beautiful and the adjoining parkette.
We also
work on flower beds at the local community cemetery.
It is the purpose of our society to support the development and
education of all things of a horticultural nature throughout the community.
Stop by and attend one of our meetings or flower shows and see how you can
take advantage of the opportunity to learn about gardening and the chance
to participate in making our community more beautiful.
